Caterers Of Home Grown Feeding Programme Enjoined To Partner Anambra Farmers

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanization, Processing and Export, Mr Leo Imoka, has called on caterers in Home Grown Feeding Programme, to liaise with farmers to achieve the required result.
He made the call during a meeting between the farmers and caterers in the Home Grown Feeding Programme, at Otuocha in Anambra East Local Government Area.
The Permanent Secretary who was represented by Mrs Obiageli Okeke as saying that the Ministry initiated the partnership to ensure best practices in the Home Grown School Feeding Programme as it will enable Caterers to buy healthy food stuffs directly from farmers.
The Programme Manager of the Home Grown Feeding Initiative , Mrs Ngozi Ekwedike explained that it is a social investment programme of the Federal Government aimed at enhancing food sufficiency by local farmers and use of the farmer’s produce in feeding the school children.
She disclosed that an estimated twenty one cooperative societies consisting of farmers and caterers will soon be formed to enable the government take proper care of their problems and challenges.
Also, during the meeting the Director of Extension Services of the State Agricultural Development Programme, Mrs Ifenyinwa Uzoka said the essence of the meeting was to link farmers to caterers, to ensure that farmers produce are used fresh from the farm to feed the pupils.

Beautiful final year student of IMSU slumps and dies after her project defence

The Imo state University was recently thrown into mourning after the school lost one of its brilliant students to the cold hands of death. The deceased simply identified as Ogamba Angel Chiamaka was final year Chemistry student before her death. A Nigerian couple set to get married has won the hearts of everyone. The groom shared a post about their love story and it got everyone tripping. A Nigerian man identified as Excel-galaxy Ajah Anayo has shared his amazing story on Facebook. The young man talked about how he met the love of his life and how God had placed her in his environment from the beginning.
