Women who wear ripped jeans deserve to be raped – Egyptian lawyer

An Egyptian lawyer, Nabih al-Wahsh, has sparked outrage after he claimed that women who wear ripped jeans deserved to be raped. Wahsh spoke during the Infirad Show, a current affairs talk show in Egypt hosted by Saeid Hasaseen. According to Wahsh it was part of the ‘national duty’ to rape women wearing such garments because they were “inviting men to harass them.” The renowned lawyer said that his view was even more valid if the jeans were ripped from the back, Al Arabiya reports. He said, “Girls must respect themselves so others respect them. Protecting morals is more important than protecting borders.” However, Maya Mursi, who is the Head of the National Council for Women’s Rights said the comments were a “flagrant call” for rape and violate ‘everything in the Egyptian constitution. Social media went up in a frenzy when Nigeria’s Star boy and Ojuelegba crooner, Wizkid, visited his childhood neighborhood in Surulere area of Lagos State. Masterminds behind Ozubulu killing revealed

The masterminds behind the mass killing at St. Philips Catholic church in Ozubuli, Ekwusigo Local government has been revealed. This was revealed by the Anambra state Commissioner of Police Garba Umar during a press briefing in Amawbia last Wednesday.
